How To Do Your Own Acrylic Nails At Home

Learn To Do Your Own Nails!

Today I am going to be doing a post about how to do your own acrylic nails at home.  Learning how to do your own acrylic nails will save you a ton of money, and allow you to customize your own nail looks.  Plus you can do them anytime you want, no scheduling conflicts or waiting at the nail saloon!

In the past, I admit, I have tried to do my own acrylic nails and they turned out awful and I vowed never to attempt it ever again...ever.  Well, my natural nails always look like something out of a horror movie.  Not really, but I have this odd habit that I'm always messing with them and they always end up breaking off.  Wired, I know.  So my only options are to have crazy messed up looking nails or to pay the $40-$50 to go get them done.  At the moment I don't have the extra money each month to spend on my nails, so that's out of the question.  But, people pay attention to your hands more than you might think and I don't want my hands and nails to hold me back.

So, I have spent countless hours researching the best and easiest ways to apply acrylic nails myself at home. I actually found my answer in the form of a Youtube video, that I want to share with you guys.  I would make my own but I seem to be video challenged, they never turn out nice but that's for a different day.  The lady in the video explains it all as she's doing it and makes the whole process extremely easy, even for someone like me!

    1. Thanks! It's something that I've been wanting to learn how to do for so long, and I'm so excited I finally figured out how to without looking like my nails were in a freak accident lol. Let me know how it turns out :)

  2. When I was a teenager I used to get acrylic nails and now that I know what I know, I wish I never had! That stuff is very toxic- to breathe in as well as to the skin!

    1. I've never really thought about that Robin, I'm sure you're right. But, they do look very pretty :) Perhaps they have some better products out there to use to get this done that are safer to use, that would make a great post for you Robin!

  3. Excellent video Lisa! I have to say I'm with Robin on this one though but I've never had acrylic nails. Do you wear a mask when you apply them? They look great though! I'm sticking to my DE for long nails!!

    1. Mine are too due to nail biting etc lol. When you have these nails on your own nails still continue to grow underneath so when you take them off your own nails will actually look better, because they were in a way protected from breaking, nail biting, etc.
